Key Stage Four Info
Key Stage Four at Longcroft runs from Year 9 to Year 11. Our pupils make their GCSE choices at the end of Year 8 and begin them in Year 9.
The approach to learning in the Upper School is seen to be much more about students making the right choices and accepting the consequences of their actions. This, in our view, alongside a good set of GCSE results, will prepare our young people for the challenges that lie ahead once they leave Year 11.
Most of our Year 11 pupils achieve grades that meet the entry criteria for our Sixth Form, whilst other chose further education elsewhere or employment. We are here to help them as they grow from being teenagers to young adults.
Worthy of note: our Three Year GCSE structure does make it challenging for students to join Years 9, 10 or 11 – however, in most cases we can personalise timetables to best fit the needs of students.
